OM6976 rice is developed from the high-yielding rice variety OM6976, which is grown in the Mekong Delta and is the leading export to South American countries. Rice OM6976 long and clear, very little belly. Medium soft, tender rice even when allowed to cool.
6976 rice is produced from OM6976 rice, this is a new pure rice variety selected by the Mekong Delta Rice Research Institute from IR 68144 / OM 997 / OM 2718 hybrid. This variety has been recognized as a national variety by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
OM6976 rice varieties have good tillering, tree height from 95-100cm, beautiful shape, very hard, big bunches of cotton, thick seeded seeds, can be grown in many types of soil due to the characteristics of resistant to alum, good salinity, anti- With high pest resistance, less use of pesticides, OM 6976 rice is grown in both large granaries in the South and Central of Vietnam.
